The Grit Foundation presents scholarship funds for Putnam County Sheriff's Office

The Grit Foundation and the St. Johns River State College will formally announce a new scholarship program for the Putnam County Sheriff’s office today. The Putnam County Sheriff’s office requested the Grit Foundation create the scholarship to ensure continuing education was available to local personnel. The scholarship will total $4,000 annually with the college matching the Foundation’s donation bringing the scholarship to $8,000 total. Sheriff’s office deputies will be able to apply to for the scholarship through the Grit Foundation website, with all application vetted through a committee comprised of Sheriff’s office leadership, representatives from St. Johns River State College and board members from the Grit Foundation.
