About the event

The 2019 Grit Gala is a black tie formal fundraising event attracting hundreds of guests in support of our local first responders and hometown heroes. The evening includes a gourmet dinner, exceptional entertainment, a silent auction, and a display of first responder tributes from seven local bakeries.

Attendees Include:

Law enforcement and first responders from Alachua, Clay, Bradford, Union, Putnam, Marion and Gilchrist Counties

Leaders of corporations, organizations and educational institutions

Corporate and not-for profit board members

Government officials

Young professionals

Active community members

The Grit Gala offers a tremendous opportunity to positively impact and show your support for our local first responders and hometown heroes. Funds raised will support the vital programs offered by The Grit Foundation to ensure that our departments have the necessary equipment, personnel and community support that they need.

Our Mission:

The Grit Foundation's mission is to generate community based support for local first responders and hometown heroes. FAQs

What is the dress code for this event?

This event is black tie. For our first responders, Class A uniforms are encouraged.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Attendees will be presented with wristbands upon arrival that designate their table and ticket level. Drink tickets are presented with general admission bands and VIP bands. All those who appear under 35 will be ID'd at the door. Guests under 21 will be given special wrist bands indicating they are underage.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes! Your printed ticket helps us save time by getting you through the registration line and into the event quickly! But if you forget your printed ticket, we have a list of pre-purchased tickets at the door that we can reference.
